Sorry to be so dramatic.

Going on my first holiday since diagnosis Mid May, doing OK so far, but not sure about 2/3 weeks away.

Going to Murcia Spain, what do I eat?

Can I drink?

HELP

Is it all inclusive? Or will you be eating out? I'd opt for grilled fish or meats and lots of salad. I can eat chickpeas so dishes with them in would also be ok, but you would need to test as they can spike some folk. Hotel breakfasts usually have plenty of scrambled eggs and cooked meats and cheese- or yogurt.
I think you can drink but it is very calorie laden so maybe try moderation!

And there are plenty of tapas bars where you can pick and choose something suitable.

If you are staying in a hotel ?
Buffet or self server salad bar ideal to choose from .

Choose hot food fish n meat ,veggies , baked peppers , etc .
Leave out the refined breads, pasta, potatoes white carbs .
As these will spike the BG's levels upwards .

Pick n choose the foods you like taste of also .
Accompany the well cooked meats n fish with plenty of veggies .
Salads can be variable with other additions added daily .
Sausage,bacon,eggs, mushrooms,peppers,tomatoes too at breakfast .
Give the fruit juices a wide berth as these do tend to be sugar laden .

After your hols - pop back and tell us how it went .
As your info can help others here .

Have a fab holiday. Red wine is normally OK in moderation blood sugar-wise. Not sure about the waistline though! Drink loads of water.

Thanks folks already at the airport , have asked my good lady wife to get similar food in as I have in UK. Shouldn't be a problem its Spain not Uganda.

Eating out will be fun, but have meter & strips so once bitten.....

Drinking well let's see, but it will be vodka & diet coke for me.

Weight just have to check when I get back don't have scales in our Spanish home.

Keep well all, be in touch soon.
