Ok so I've been diagnosed type 2 for a year. Was exclusively on metformin until last week when they put me on lantus 10units as I can't keep my sugars down. The problem I'm having is that I've started feeling so emotional. I'm crying at the drop of a hat, really agitated and get annoyed at the slightest thing. I don't know if this is because of the lantus or just me having a moment. I've felt like this for the past few days. I'm back to the diabetic clinic in 3 months so if it doesn't improve I'll explain to them then about it. I just wondered if anyone else has felt like this or am I just emotional on my own..

Hi @OrlaDt2, Sometimes emotion being expressed it like a pressure-relief valve of sorts, but there are limits. Have you been testing your BSLs near these emotion-filled times.? I know I can get emotional when my BSL is low.
Also you have just started on more treatment and may have some underlying dread of it which expresses itself in emotion.
Best Wishes for your situation improving and soon !!

Give it a week or so but if your blood sugars are good and you're still not feeling right then speak to the hospital. Not everyone gets on with Lantus. I had to push a bit to get changed to Tresiba, but I feel a lot better for it. Lantus used to give me muscle aches and I generally felt 'off' on it.
