Good morning
I was put on lantus and novarapid in october after previously being misdiagnosed type 2. Within a couple of weeks i started to get pains in my hands and by mid december my feet started swelli g, as did my fingers. The gp di nlood.tests,.all.was ok. Put it down to my Fibromylagia which i have had for 20 years and this is unlike anything i have ever suffeed in that time. Shoot forward to now my ankles, feet and fingers are an alarming size and i am practically unable to use my fingers and all my joints are inflamed and painful. It is not till now i made a connection with lantus. I have been put on to tresibe 2 days ago andnwonder if anyone else suffered this and how long it took for swelling and pain to subside? Thabk you for listening!

Hello, and welcome, @mrsackie1982 .
sorry, I am not able to advise anything other than that you need to seek further medical advice. Especially as the swelling is recent following a change of meds.

I had pains on Lantus as well, mainly my feet and legs, and I never made the connection with Lantus.
It was only after I switched to Tresiba for different reasons that after a while I realised thngs had gotten much better but I don't remember how long it took. A google search told me this can be a side effect with Lantus.

I hope for you that it was indeed the Lantus, and things will improve soon!
