Does anyone know where I can get a lantus pen (not a prefilled disposable one), the reusable one that you add the cartridges to? I have accidentally ordered a repeat prescription of the cartridges only (instead of the prefilled pen!), so urgently need to get a pen to put the cartridges in?!
 
If you have enough of the disposable pens to past you until you can see your GP, the pens are available on prescription . Or just request another prescription for the disposables ?

Alternatively you could try Sanofi customer services and ask for one ( Google for the number )

If you don't have enough to last you over the Bank Holiday, you may need to find your nearest out of hours pharmacy or Walk In Centre .

You could give NHS Direct a ring to find out where your nearest out of hours surgery is. You will need a prescription to get the pen. You will also need a pharmacy to dispense one. Again, there might be an out of hours pharmacy. Alternatively if it can wait until tomorrow, some supermarkets have a pharmacy that may be open.
 
Pharmacy's can dispense drugs and medical supplies without a prescription if the items on your repeat are in their system, so if you go along to your pharmacy in the morning (if open) they should be able to give you a pen if they have one in stock, they'll email your gp surgery and request a prescription for the item.

I had to do this 2 weeks ago, my gp surgery prescribed the wrong bg strips and I ran out, my wife went to the pharmacy and she had to fill in a form with the pharmacist before they would let me have a box of strips until my new prescription arrived.

Hi,
Do the cartriges have a smoth cap with the membrane? Or is there a thread to screw the needle caps to?
