I have a question regarding the timing of my Lantus. First of all, I am 17 male, 60kg 180cm. I take 24 units Lantus and 8 units Humalog. I usually take my Lantus at 11 o'clock (night) but something doesn't add up. I take my bolus for dinner at 8 o'clock and sometimes I see high readings at 11 o'clock although I stick to my allowed meal. I thought it could be Lantus wearing off and Humalog as well so my sugars start to climb up to 350s.. After 2 hours of taking Lantus it drops around 90 points.. still high but Lantus shouldn't drop that much. My dose is not high because when I take it a bit earlier, it doesn't drop my sugar levels by more than 30 points. Should I move my Lantus timing a bit behind? I usually aim for 3-hour gap between Humalog and Lantus in order to avoid clashes between insulins... is this gap too much? Thank you for reading.
