It's one of my goto cheat meals. Jumbo Cod in batter. Down in one. Well necked. Not so bad on the blood at all. That is if I buy from one shop. If I get it from the Chinese Takeaway, then I get problems. Their batter seems to be more carby. I am on a small dose of Gliclazide, so my sugars often drop lower than my pre-meal reading. Rejoice. Your pancreas is working.Good evening folks. Had my usual Friday cheat tea of large battered cod and mushy peas at 6.00 p.m bloods before tea were 5.2 . Took my normal 1000 mg of Metformin after meal. Two hours later 7.8 .Four hours later at 10.00 p.m down to 4.2 . I don't think I have ever been that low since I was diagnosed in 2008 . Should I expect such a drop or is this normal ? T.I.A
If I had of done chips I would have been in the 10s at 2 hours and in the 8s at 4 hoursI lost interest on the "mushy peas" bit, they are not a substitute for double dipped fried chips cooked in beef dripping.
Could I cause damage to the Pancreas ? And do you feel that once a week is too often ?Probably an over enthusiastic insulin response to the carbs in the batter and peas has caused more to be pumped out than was absolutely necessary. You're over stimulating your pancreas with the food and it's responding.. not sure I'd recommend doing it too often though.
Sorry about the abbreviation never give it a thought .Hope you are fully recoveredIt's one of my goto cheat meals. Jumbo Cod in batter. Down in one. Well necked. Not so bad on the blood at all. PS having had a couple of strokes, the term TIA has a different meaning.

Well it certainly won't do it any good.. you are already an insulin over producer being a T2 so "forcing" your pancreas to make more would be adding to your insulin resistance and over working the poor thing. It depends where you are on your T2 journey. Once a week might be ok for you but remember your pancreas has probably been overproducing for years before your diagnosis so...Could I cause damage to the Pancreas ? Mushy peas are made from dried marrowfat peas rather than the garden peas you are probably familiar with.Really mushy peas is a thing? I used to smash peas though my fork when I was five, just after my mother demanded I eat them.
Let me know if you do .would be interesting !!Fantastic i will have to try that next week i bet i dont get such good bloods.
