Type 1 Laser surgery

Hi I am new to the forum and have been diabetic for 28;years. Due to covid I wasn't sent for my eye screening and in October I was poorly and blood vessels burst in the back of both my eyes.. I had two rounds of laser in two weeks. When I'm home mybeyes are ok although there is still blood which is slowly dispersing. My issue is that when Ingo out in the natural light and in shops my vision goes very blurry and takes a few hours to recover. Is this normal and to be expected. The hospital has hiven me no information on what to expect and I'm trying to not to Google things.
Any advice or insight would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry to hear you've been ill & it resulted in eye treatment.

Is this natural light blur consistent since your treatments ouside or in shop environment lighting?
Or are you saying it happens after leaving the hospital, but clears up a few hours after you get home?

Hi jaylee thank you for reaching out.
So my eyes were blurry after the laser and then started to.clear a couple of days later.
Now when I go.outdide and visit shops my vision goes blurry. It's like they are trying to adjust to the light. I've spoken to a nurse and they have said it can take up to 3 months for yourveyes to go back to normal. But just wanted to.knowmof this is common. As me tioned the Dr who I saw didn't explain anything and didn't answerbany of my questions

Hi, your nurse could well be right??

I've had anti-VEGF injections for macula oedema. the brain gets used to & tries to compensate for the distortion in the back of the eye. Then takes time to re-adjust as things settle within normality.

I'll tag in @Dark Horse who may help belay any concerns you have..
 
If you are concerned about symptoms following an eye procedure, you should be able to contact the eye clinic and speak to a triage nurse - they can judge whether you need to be seen earlier than your next appointment. If you've done that already and you are still worried, you could try seeing an optician while you are experiencing the symptoms - explain your symptoms and ask them for a check (including eye pressure).

Presumably, you have a follow-up appointment fairly soon and can discuss your concerns then. However, if you develop eye pain, headache, nausea, vomiting or a loss in vision, you should visit eyecasualty/A+E as soon as possible.
