Just thought I'd post my latest results.

HbA1c is now 35.

Cholesterol not so good though DN did not seem too worried about it.

Serum lipid levels
Serum cholesterol level 6.9 mmol/L
Serum triglyceride levels 1.42 mmol/L [0.4 - 1.8]
Serum HDL cholesterol level 1.3 mmol/L
Serum non high density lipoprotein cholesterol level 5.6 mmol/L
Serum LDL cholesterol level 5.0 mmol/L
NB the calculation of LDL is valid only for a
fasting sample.
Serum cholesterol/HDL ratio 5.3

eGFR is now at 50 down from 60

Well done on your A1c. Thirty five is a number I can only dream of!

Congrats, @JohnEGreen. These a really good results. My guess would be that all of your cholesterol ratios will be fine too. Did you fast for your blood test?

Excellent HbA1c, well done. :)

If this wasn't a fasting test, then your triglycerides are probably higher than they would have been, especially if you had eaten something fatty. The upper value for Trigs on a non-fasting test is 2.3.

Wow, well done! I dont really know much about cholesterol, but tbh I dont think anyone else does either. There are so many informed medical opinions saying completely opposite things.

But the results show lots of hard work! You should be chuffed!!

I did fast for the test as I had asked for a full panel test and my DN told me it needed to be a fasting test for that.

I have registered for Internet access and was able to down load the complete results.

And yes I am chuffed very happy with the HbA1c indeed.:)

Edit to add though the eGFR is a little concerning as had hoped to see it go up not down.

Congrats on the HbA1c.

Snap. I match you on the eGfr, mine is also 50 ish. Are you aware that this means you should only be prescribed half doses of penicillin? It clears through the kidneys, so can build up to a higher concentration than the doctor intended.

I only wish my HbA1c matched too...
