today I had my latest number of HbA1c and it was the expected number of 38 ... so I am quite happy with that, of cause I would have liked it lower but it is not much raised from the last number and those low before where I was on metformin... so well acceptable when considering I can´t seem to get my morning numbers down in the fives and seem to be stucked around 6.0-6.4 mmol in morning blood glucose

well it does help that others are in the same boat...Well done @Freema , I'm another one with the 6.0 morning readings.
I spotted this chart on the nurses desk when I was at a hospital recently. It seems @Freema and those of us with an Hba1c of 38 are beyond excellent!
well I think you are right in presuming that ...I think the HbA1c figure is not a measure of your diabetes but of whether it is doing you any harm. I am sure I would fail a glucose tolerance test but that doesn't matter because I don't eat enough carbs to make my intolerance a problem.
