Hey all wish you a great summer maybe even an indian summer...

today I had my latest number of HbA1c and it was the expected number of 38 ... so I am quite happy with that, of cause I would have liked it lower but it is not much raised from the last number and those low before where I was on metformin... so well acceptable when considering I can´t seem to get my morning numbers down in the fives and seem to be stucked around 6.0-6.4 mmol in morning blood glucose

That sounds excellent, especially as my results are exactly the same. HbA1c 38 and always 6.0 or just over in the morning. We may not win any prizes but it seems good enough to me.

Well done @Freema
Just keep going and I know it's hard at times. My fasting readings are also up in the 6's so know how you feel.

Snap. Well done.
I am on Amaryl so that counts for some of mine. My numbers are usually Ok or good in the morning....but get worse as the day goes on. Its a constant chore to keep the numbers down.

Very well done Freema! Keep up the good work!

what is great on top of this is that my "too high cholesterol- level" hasn´t raised at bit not even the LDL even though I have never eaten so much fat in my life as I do now, slowly learning to enjoy the taste of fat again... and unlearning the idea of fat being a kind of poison..... it is a revelation... of how stupid all the advice authorities give are ... no fat is not raising cholesterol at least not from the fats I eat , even though most of it is from cheese /dairy

Great hold Freema. Well done!

I spotted this chart on the nurses desk when I was at a hospital recently. It seems @Freema and those of us with an Hba1c of 38 are beyond excellent!

yes it is actually a very okay number in the borderline of prediabetic maybe, in this forum we sometimes end up thinking that an HbA1c average of 30 is the normal level, which it is probably not... maybe it is an ideal number but not a normal average, but on the other hand a level HbA1c of 48 mmol is surely a truly prediabetic level and not at all healthy..
so where the line in the sand is drawn is maybe also a political question... so that not too many people will cost the society money by regular measuring and appointments... Well I don´t know... but who did actually draw the line and decide at what level normal exactly is

I think the HbA1c figure is not a measure of your diabetes but of whether it is doing you any harm. I am sure I would fail a glucose tolerance test but that doesn't matter because I don't eat enough carbs to make my intolerance a problem.

well I think you are right in presuming that ...
