Morning all,

So, I had my review in Friday - my a1c was the same as 6 months ago - too high, and my cholesterol was the same as 6 months ago - high lipids. Weight was the same, BP borderline. DN was keen to get me back on Statins as " the cholesterol is more of a worry than your BG just now" - I politely refused and agreed to discuss n 6 months, she also hinted that injections were the next move - which is odd as the other nurse told me there are "a good few other meds before that". I guess she was trying to "encourage" me, which I get totally. My comment was " That's not going to happen"

One new thing they are about to offer is CBT ( Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) for help with motivation etc. I said no thanks, but thinking about it I may go for it - why refuse any help that's not in the form of drugs? It's not up & running yet but will be around May. I've seen CBT in action and it can be empowering.

I feel that a lot of the problem is lack of exercise - for 15 years I commuted to London every day from Lincoln, and averaged 15000 steps. I now work from home full time and have been averaging 1500 a day! which is bad - very bad.

So, now I have to get my ass in gear, eat well, and workout - I have 2 stones I want to lose. I generally eat low carb but need to be a little more focused on that. I will carry on intermittent fasting too as 16:8 works well for me generally.

Back on track!

I always accept anything I think can help. If it's free, go for it

I agree - if its free, try it - youve nothing to lose except a bit of time
Re exercise - Ive got a treadmill ( no running involved - I was only ever any good at the 100 meters - its sited in view of a tv and I find having one or two 1/2 hour walks timed to coincide with the news or a good drama prog makes exercise bearable

I have a rower, 2 cycles, weights, a vibration trainer AND a gym membership........ I'm ashamed....

My gym membership is gathering dust - going out in the cold just to lift some weights thatll make my muscles complain, just seems wrong

I had an exercise bike, it had had several owners and still had only 30 miles on the clock! I used to drape clothes over and later sold it to a friend. She put another couple of miles on it, used it as clothes storage then sold it on. It will soon have had as many owners as miles!

I spoke to a nlp practitioner, mostly the same enough to a cbt practitioner to say it is worth the time. When you find out why the how is easier.
