I was brought up on a full fat diet. My diabetes problem eventually came from eating plenty of carbs as well, and now I've cut them right down I'm much better off again health wise.
NoCrbs4Me, We have always had it drummed into us about the dangers of high fat, high salt, high sugar. As I say, I'm new to this so its a learning curve
No worries. We all had that drummed into us.
That is probably why we have this depressing T2 'epidemic' going on.
Very sad, and largely avoidable.
Luckily, we are all, gradually, becoming exposed to the new thinking - which is actually old, tried and tested thinking that got smothered under the 30+ years of Low Everything Nice thinking.
Yet, even now, I still come across my own wee bubbles of trapped thinking - when I reach for the butter, or go to pop cream in my coffee, or tip coconut liberally into a curry. Then I have to remind myself that my skin and hair are now in better condition than at any time during the last few decades, my joints are less painful, my imflammation is less, my digestion is easier and I have plenty of consistent energy. I also weigh less than I did 15 years ago. So I put a bit more butter on. lol.
