when you are getting near your target, the weight loss comes off in ounces a month and it's quite possible that your body has found a weight it likes.Jack412 - I will revisit my proportions then, can't hurt afterall!
Ah yes! BMI would be more helpful for you than just the weight! My BMI is 24.8 so yes, I acknowledge I am in the "healthy" range but, right on the border! I would hate to start creeping up and would just prefer to be in the middle of the healthy range. My body might be at a level it's happy with, but I'm not!
Still, just had a lovely jog around Hyde Park and am feeling fit and strong, so, it's not all bad. Just I read about so many LCHF weight loss success stories on here and would like one of my own!
I agree and weightlifting may need a bit more depending on how hard you are working, but 1g/kg of lean body mass..that's your BMI minus the fat % is fine (0.8-1.2g)I don't know how much protein you're eating, but you need at least 1 g of protein pr kg body weight, if you're trying to build muscle.
...
I hope someone can help me with my mystery!
I am currently on a low carb diet and have been since the beginning of January. Apart from a couple of "cheat" days, I have stuck to it religiously - but have lost a grand total of 1kg.... in a month. Below is a typical day for me in terms of BG reading, insulin and food - what am I doing wrong?!
.
muscle weighs more than fat..you may be at your bodies Ideal build/weight, remmeber these are just averages and if you are toned (female for muscled}, you would have an above average weight, but not fat...get your gym to do a caliper love handles measure to see your body fat %This is all very interesting.... I am not weightlifting for the purpose of building muscle, I am just aiming to be toned.
I shall keep a record of carb/protein/fat then and will adjust appropriately - thanks for the suggestions!
Yes @DeejayR, I know... I am obsessing about a number on the scales which is counterproductive... I think I look well, I am a size 8 or 10 (depending on the shop!) .... can I blame the media for my poor attitude?
Yes it's a self image thing, some are the a good weight but the eye tells them different, others may be wishing they had your figure.Just to throw a spanner in the works, I'm not a fan of BMI since very many "ample" people are extremely fit and agile. If you only weight 65kg and you enjoyed a jog round Hyde Park and feel fit and strong, maybe you're just the right size for you.
"I am now ignoring the scales and just going by how I feel/look in the mirror - feeling good about myself, looking decent," you said. Not enough?
Lol yes the media has a lot of influence on self image. This is all very interesting.... I am not weightlifting for the purpose of building muscle, I am just aiming to be toned.
