been type 2 and the fact i get no sodding help from the NHS at all
So it's nearly 2 weeks since I started and I plan to weigh myself and measure Sunday to see how week 2 went. I find it quite hard as I get bored with the food. Is it terrible to have a treat?

If you are bored with the food, then try going to the "what have you eaten thread". There are probably thousands of ideas on there.

Ive lost another 2lb this week so that's 4lb in total :) hope it continues

No it is not wrong to have a treat sometimes as long as that is all it is and not every day
Someone we knew had T2 for many years he had not heard of LCHF so his diet change was just cutting out all sugar stuff but he always allowed himself a slice of cake every Sunday that was his treat to look forward to.
He died a year ago at the age of 93 from pneumonia but he never suffered from any diabetic complications

How about chocolate sponge with double cream?
Individual chocolate pudding

Recipe makes 2

50g butter, melted in the microwave
3tbsp ground almonds
1 1/5 tbsp sweetner
1/4 tsp vanilla
Pinch of salt
1 egg
1 tbsp cocoa powder
1/2 tsp baking powder
2 squares 70% dark flavoured with orange chocolate
Or
1 square 90% chocolate, chopped
2 tbsp pecans

Melt the butter in a bowl, add remaining ingredients and divide into 2 mugs and nuke for 1 minute per mug.

I don't really test my blood as it almost always reads the same no matter what I do so I don't do it often as they cost a load

When are you going to start testing? When you are full blown T2? You are fortunate to be only in the pre-diabetic range (42). Please don't waste this opportunity of avoiding T2 for the sake if saving a few quid a month.

No it's ok as I only been eating foods that I know are ok from a year previous of testing

Turvell if you use myfitnesspal, and use the recipe section, it will count the carbs for you. You really need to open your mind on the self-help front here.

You are on the right track and loosing weight so well done. If you are on a budget testing can be expensive but as you did it in the previous year at least you know what you can eat so thats good but just try to vary it a bit so you don't get bored look at the recipes on the forum or as already said the thread " What have you eaten today"

If you are low carbing and 'prediabetic' you don't really need to test much . I only test first thing in the morning as that's the one level I have no control over. I'm thinking I'll maybe start testing every second day as my morning levels have been good for weeks now.
