Leg/Feet Pain While Excercising

Not entirely sure if this is diabetes related or not but over the last few years I have begun experiencing tight calfs followed by excruciating pain in lower legs and feet while exercising. This doesn't happen every single time I exercise but seems to be becoming more and more common. I am 19 and have had diabetes for 5 years and I'm a healthy weight and exercise 4/5 times a week. It seems to happen more when I've had a period of bad control followed by very good control, not sure if my body adjusting back to healthy BG's maybe triggers this? Has anyone else experienced similar and have any solutions? I should note the last time my HBA1C was tested it was in the 60s but I'm not sure if it is still in this range as I've not had it tested in a few years due to covid etc.

Have you seen a doctor or diabetes specialist? That's probably the place to start.
(There's a good chance that keeping control of your glucose is probably a good thing.)

It is possible that the pain is a sign of diabetic neuropathy but this can be confirmed by a test of your nerve health. Id' hope that the fact you are a healthy weight and active with only 5 years worth of diagnosed diabetes would stand in your favour!
It could also be cramping due to something banal as the dehydration that goes with high blood glucose. In rare cases that pain can be a sign of arterial disease as your blood struggles' to get to your lower limbs.
Either way I would not ignore it, Get a GP appointment and perhaps book in to get your blood lipids and hba1c checked too. I think your body is trying to tell you something!

Phoned and asked for an appointment was essentially told I'm not ill enough for an appointment and the only thing I can do is go to my GP
