So what have you learned from the weekend?

To start things off I've learn't today that when checking the weather forecast at a racetrack and it says its going to rain, take you're wet weather gear then pack some more. :)

I believee in naural magic. That means that if there is a possibility of rain, forgetting your umbrella makes it certain.

We only took 1 rain coat each and 1 umbrella between 3 of us! Could have done with wellis and a change of clothes for coming home in. Very cold and very wet.
Would rather have been out running in the rain than standing still in the same place for several hours, but then it was fun watching the cars go round the corners sidewards.

I learned not to take my friend Ellen shopping with me.

I ended up with 2 tops, one which is definitely going back, not sure if I've got the guts to wear the other one. A pair of leggings, - it's been about twenty years since I last wore leggings! And a pair of knee high boots with high heels which make me feel like I'm playing dress up in mummy's shoes!

She insists I need a wardrobe make over. I think I like my flat boots, black trousers and long loose tops. Not sure I want to "make the most of myself". - I'm 42. It's a bit late for all that fuss now.

-remember to eat!

Missed lunch, - too busy buying things I'll probably never wear! Must have dropped too low and had a liver dump coz I suddenly started bouncing off the walls. Totally hyper. I was acting drunk, then after about 15/20 min, I got really tired and we had to go find me some food.

Weird experience.

Remember when having a lazy day to use a bucket load of insulin, to counteract the laziness. Back to business tomorrow.

Mo learnt what it is like to REALLY explain diabetes to someone who has to exposure to it. A close friend of mine couldn't grasp it. She kept asking for an explanation in "the simplest form of diabetes". Sorry love, there's not such thing!

I had another friend who is a dietician who specialises in diabetes explaining the ins and outs too..... But the penny just never dropped!

I learned that as much as I have tried to teach my partner about diabetes itll always suprize her. I was wiped out by a chest infection at the weekend and she was really suprized when I wanted to stay in bed and not go exploring like I normally do. (a day in bed is a wasted day I say!)

Also found out shes quite a good nurse :)
