levels question

Hi there

I have just been diagnosed with gestational diabetes, I was told that my results were within the normal range for my fasting blood test but 2 hours after the glucose drink they were 8.2 can anyone tell me if this is very high? the midwife I spoke to didn't really explain & I was wondering if it was an awful reading or just a bit over
