I was diagnosed type 2 over a year ago.For the first month I had to check my levels by finger prick twice a day.Since then I have asked several times when will I have to do this again only to be told 'I dont its to expensive to keep giving out strips' Can anyone tell me how I can check my levels? Fairywishes

You can't without a bg meter. Obviously your gp practise are reluctant to give out test strips for type 2's, you can purchase a bg meter yourself from somewhere like ebay or Amazon, the test strips for the meters are expensive but the cheapest on the market at the moment is the SD Codefree BG Meter that sells the strips for around £6 for a box of 50......the meter itself retails for around £12.
