Hi folks,
Still not being given very much information from docs and nurses here, so thought I'd ask you.
My FBS is around 7-7.5, I'm on Levemir and NovoRapid. The clever people have just said I need to keep my FBS below 8. Personally, I am quite convinced I can manage it to be at least around 6 and probably in the 5's somewhere. But they say '7 is fine'. I think it is too high of a background level, especially when I am on RA also? If I were to try to correct down from 7-7.5 constantly, I'd be having a hard time not hypo'ing and the effect would not last as long as I would like it, unless I were to inject also around small snacks too.
I am rather new to insulin (1 month) and brand new to basal/bolus, so if someone could tell me how my logic sounds...?
In short - with a FBS of 7.5, would you adjust your basal insulin?
