What size Cartridges and pen should I be asking my GP for tomorrow?? (Besides the 4mm needles!!)

Can anybody take a picture of the cartridge box close up and a pen with the name of it showing for me please??

Would be great if could have a photo of 4mm needle box...as well

Then I can show GP exactly what I need!!!

You won't need photo's, just ask for the 3ml Flexpen and 4mm pen needles, I was using the 4mm BD Micro-fine needles before changing to a pump.
 
I preferred the 3ml penfill cartridges and a reusable pen such as the Novapen Echo. That's just a preference though.

Not as environmentally friendly but I too use the 3ml flexpen. I just find it's a lot lighter to carry in my pocket than the metal reusable Novopens. My pen needles are the 8mm BD Microfine.
 
Cartridges take up less space in your fridge than flexpens. Echo or novopen5 are the best pens depending on your dosage. The memory function is handy. I like the BD 4mm micro fine as well.
 
I've always just been used to cartridges..

I prefer to have a 1/2 unit pen. Is the novopen5 the same as the echo?

Does the novarapid 5 hold the levimir cartridge?

My lantus cartridges only went in my Autopen24!! (Don't know if they even make these nowadays!)

I'm so confused as the lantus is a plunge top to cartridge and the novorapid is screw top so non changeable.. Thats why I'm so confused.. Is it a novopen 5 or an Echo? Or are tgey the same pen?
 
Novo Insulin cartridges only work in NovoPens. I'm not sure the NovoPen 5 is available in the UK, but the NovoPen Echo is - it's a half unit pen with a time and dose memory. Comes in Red or Blue.
 
The Levemir penfill cartridges are the same as the Novorapid penfill so will fit in any pen made by Novo which takes csrtridges including the one you already have. Better to get the Echo pen in half unit increments and has a memory function. You will probably need slightly more Levemir than Lantus doseage wise.

Another vote for the echo! I use the echo for my novo rapid and the regular novo pen for my levemir.

Pens are made by the insulin manufactures so you should use a novo pen (echo,novopen4,novopen5) for all novo insulin (levemir,novorapid, etc).
Lantus is made by sonafi and requires a sonafi pen like clikstar.

The echo and novopen5 both fit novo insulins. The echo has 1/2 unit increments but is limited to a max of 30 unit per shot. If you take more than 30u per shot you'll have to get a novopen4 or novopen5.
 
Novopen 5 isn't available on prescription in the UK yet. For all Novo insulins, go with the Echo and get it in two different colours, one for each insulin so you can see the difference and reduce risk of taking the wrong one.
 
Got 1 pen today.. Echo.. 1/2 unit...Another tomorrow.
Got 4mm BD nibs.. However initially told no.. BD not make and when found, told CCG would change them for cheaper ones.

Got new expert meter on way.

Got the levemir.

I can see why 4mm cannulas aren't made though to be honest... They are so tiny I cannot honestly see how they would stay in moving skin easily.....

Accuchek are sending me the tenderlinks to try as a priority when they are available.. Just to try giving them ago... They are due for delivery next month..

Still **** levels!!
