Libre for pediatric

Hi all
I am coming to the UK in July with my 5 years diabetic daughter. I would like to take the chance to try freestyle libre because it is still not available in my country. I know it has not been licensed for pediatric yet, but I do not think it is going to cause any harm. I will continue using the brik gm for sometime to make sure it the libre gives reasonable reading. I have two questions:
1-Did anybody try it with such age? my only concern is the size. My daughter is little and not sure how the sensor will stick to her arm.
2- How long is delivery time? I am staying for about four months. Do you think I have the chance to have and try it during my stay.

Hi Hussain,
1. Don't think yet the device has been approved for usage on patients below 18 yo. Some others might know this? So when ordering it, you will have to quote it for your own usage. But technically, I think it was designed from day1 with also paediatric care mind. The sensor diameter is around a 1 Euro/UKP coin, so should also fit on a smaller upper arm without much trouble
2. If otherwise that Abbott is not out of stock/in backorder situation, then delivery is typically max two weeks from when first signing up and ordering completed. You should therefore have ample time to order and try it out during your 4 months stay.
 
There is a waiting list to get it. I signed up 2 months ago and still waiting. Some people waited 6 months. Get on the waiting list now

Correct Hussain,
You will need both to order from a UK IP connected computer and to quote a residential postal address in the UK to sign up and for the ordering.
 
Dear Hussain11, I live in Italy and have a 5 years old son type 1 diabetic. Starter kit is temporary unavailable but is it necessary that you register as new customer on the frestyle libre web site.
Looking at sensor photo, it seems that the needle is about 5-6 millimeter and its insertion is quite painless (from youtube tutorial videos).
Regarding the pediatric approval,I found this study:

I hope that this sensor will be available for pediatric use soon.
