I have seen on the internet that Abbots have launched a recycling scheme for Libre applicators in the United States. I have emailed Abbots UK to ask them if they have a scheme here (pretty sure they don’t) and if not are they planning one soon. It’s criminal that all these applicators are going to landfill when so many use Libre now that it is on prescription for a great many people in the UK. Perhaps if more people lobby them they may take notice...Will post when I get a reply.

I did the same with Roche re pump supplies. They subsequently introduced recycling for the bit you peel off the domed cannula container/easy fill cartridge container. Tiny, tiny step, but I've filled a good few A5 envelopes now.

I recycled those too when I had a Roche pump, as you say tiny steps but it all helps. I am now on a Ypsomed pump and will ask them if they will do a similar scheme as their peel off lids are twice the size! I do hope Abbott’s reply is positive...
