Libre reader / phone

I am new to Libre and started using it 4 weeks ago with the reader , it worked fine and could use the reader and get the alarms and could use my I phone as a back up without the alarms which was how they said it would work as I had started it with the reader , this morning I thought I would have a change and started my new sensor with my i phone and it's working fine and the alarms seem to work fine , i'me a bit disappointed that the reader will now not work at all , I was led to believe that it would still work but not have the alarms . Should the reader still work ? I am thinking if not it would be better to start it with the reader then at least have two methods to scan .

The same thing happened with my reader/iPhone combination. I now prefer to start new Libre2 with the reader.
 
This is the way it's designed.
If you start with phone, you can't use another device.
If you start with reader, you can use phone as well but without the alarms.

I start with reader but mainly use my phone. For alarms on my phone I use an alternative app (DiaBox, not allowed by Abbott) because I like those alarms better because it has more settings.
