Hey all.

I got the libre on may 30th and I've been overjoyed with it so far. Its helped me adjust my basal and also made me notice that one of my daytime vitamins was causing my bolus not to work properly (it had niacin). Sadly my first sensor had to be ended 3 days early because on Friday night I suddenly had pain where the sensor was and my body had a vasovagal response! I broke out in cold sweats and horrible nausea like I had just had a blood test. It had to come out.

I have a new one on the opposite arm now and I'm not sure what is going on.

I usually do not sleep until about 5am just to make you aware. I had 4 units of bolus at 1:45am because I was quite high (17mmol, I'm always higher on my weight lifting days) and really hungry too so I needed to cover my snacks and have an extra unit to hopefully get it down a bit.

I got woken up 8:45ish by my hypo alarm. As I have major hypo anxiety, I set mine to go off when I drop below 5.0mmol to give me some breathing space to figure out what direction I'm headed. My sensor said 4.7mmol and displayed a sharp crash in my blood sugar in the last hour despite not having any bolus for about 7 hours. As i was half asleep I ate 4 jelly babies and then realized I should check my actual blood. It showed 7.7mmol.

10 to 15 minutes later my bloods show 7.0mmol and my Libre says 9.2. I'm so confused. I thought the Libre was supposed to be behind by 10 minutes?

How can my Libre show that the jelly babies increased me but my blood meter says I'm going down? I'm really panicked because I've not had any bolus and I never drop like that while sleeping. My basal has been the same dose for about a week now and I've always been steady during sleep!

I've been doing some light weight lifting every other day as I'm having physiotherapy for my very weak neck and shoulders causing a lot of pain and vertigo, and never noticed any drops in sugars. If anything it makes me go higher.

If you were lying on the Libre sensor while sleeping you may have had a ‘compression low’ which happens to many. It’s not an actual low, but a result of the sensor being compressed.

Omg this is very possible. I chose my right arm for the first sensor because I usually sleep on my left and I proper squish my arm on my left. My sensor is on my left side at the moment!

You also mentioned your sensor was newly applied.
Some of us find the first couple of days can give random readings until our body gets used to the alien object in our arm. For this reason, I always apply my sensor 48 hours before activating it.

Update: I'm not sure it was a compression low.

I've suddenly become really sensitive to insulin and crashed again without any bolus. The jelly babies took me up to 12 and I went back to sleep, and while sleeping I've come down to 4.4 and confirmed it with a blood test. Guess my basal needs changing again
