Life after burnout

Early morning walk ended up being early morning swim as I could not resist the pull of the water.

Even more annoyed now for letting it so long before we visited this year. Determined to do my best to come over every weekend for the remainder of the summer but wonder if I will be able to manage it.

Mini break by the sea going well.
Very relaxing and had a chance to meet up with some friends as well.
I have managed to keep to diet even when eating out, which I am pleased about.
Have not done much walking but lots of swimming in the sea. Early morning swim before the noisy crowds arrive is a rare pleasure.
Although I intentionally did not bring my camera along, phone served me well.
Don't know why but android app of the forum does not seem to work any more for me. That is why I have not posted anything in the last couple of days.

Woke up early today. Really early. 4:30 am still pitch black outside early.

A week ago that would have been the jetlag from the trip back from the States. Today was just my determination to go for a dawn swim.

I reached for my glucose meter and tested, as I have been doing religiously for a week now. 5,8 mmol. More than happy with that. I know others are getting scores in the 4s but I don't let that concern me. This is not a race, not a competition.

My only opponent is me. My only enemy is my bad self.

And the diabetes.

I don't let negative thoughts spoil the mood, dampen my excitement.

A week ago my readings were in the tens.

A week before that who knows. I was not even testing then.

I enter my "score" on the app I now use to record my glucose readings and take pleasure in seeing the relevant graph show a steady satisfying green line of healthy scores. The reds and oranges I started off with last week hopefully behind me now.

I get up, dress, grab my phone, (once again regretting not bringing a proper camera along) and head for the sea

Back at work but struggling to get much done.

Too quiet!

There is only three people in the office and no telephones are ringing. Everybody it seems is still on holiday.

In spirit, so am I, so here are some more photos from these morning. Actually these were the first I shot as the sun was still below the horizon.
