Life insurance??

Hi guys
My first time posting on the forum, T1 diabetic for 21yrs I am after advice on getting life insurance. I moved into my own home just under a year ago and looked into life insurance for mortgage protection. I only wanted basic life insurance and went through application with aviva which took 6months for them to finally get back to me with a letter stating they wouldn't insure me due to being diabetic
Anybody else had issues or suggestions of where to try?

Do you mean they wouldn't insure you?

Some companies won't insure type 1's or unfortunately heavily load the premiums, they do it on a risk basis and sadly diabetes is up their high on their list. Try and look around for a few more quotes, there's some specialist insurance brokers who specialise in finding policies for conditions like diabetes.
