Lifescan One Touch Ultra packaging

Have just purchased 5 x boxes of the above from the Uk but am concerned that the packaging is different whilst the phials and test strips appear to be the same. I am used to a dark blue box with an orange/purple flash whereas the new purhases are contained (50x2) phials) in a very pale blue/white boxes with more sparse typography. The outside does have barcode but the explanatory leaflet is no longer bi-lingual and is not as professionally set out (was a printer once) as its predecessor. Any observations please?
 
I bought some like that from ebay some time ago (only one box). They seemed to work fine though. I was a little worried that they were fake.
 
Denise - Like you I purchase from Ebay which is the only way I can obtain/afford them for my particular meter. The auction depicted a stack of five of the dark blue boxes so I bid with confidence. The seller has not so far replied to me - if he/she does not I must report the matter to Ebay because of the misrepresentation whether or not the strips are genuine. The adhesive labels around the pots vary slightly also I have since found. I suspect that these (the boxes and contents) may be manufactured by a US subsidiary. Thankyou so much for your reply.

My Google check - third item - still shows lowercase but yours with uppercase as you stated. Will let you know if they reply.
 
Hi. Sorry to be pedantic catherinecherub but email addresses should always be lower case. If you use upper case it is converted back to l/c anyway. The history of email goes back to the days of the Unix operating system where l/c is normally the standard. Passwords do depend on case, however.
 
I've just remembered that they had a different code number from the ones I usually get. The ones I get from ebay and my doctor in the normal box have a code of 25. The ones in the plain box had a different number, can't remember what it was though.
 
Denise, Daibell and Catherine. I did send again with uppercase and it has been returned (showing lowercase amendment) with the same response that Lifescan is taking too long to accept. I remember a few years ago trying to get in touch when first came to Bali - no luck then either. Denise - the current sending (5 boxes) are all Code 25 which has been the number for some year or so. I would have worried if yours was different. I have tried the strips which seem to be ok reading 0.3 higher that the old batch. The seller has still not replied to two emails which is a bit stupid if he/she wants to remain on Ebay's books. The saga continues....
 
You can be as pedantic as you like.
I sent an email to Lifescan using the upper casing and have had a reply.
My email was sent as a tester to see if they would receive it and explained that people were having problems with it.

I have had a reply, "We are not aware of any problems with our email address and we have received your email as normal".

"Curiouser and curiouser" - I am still being unsuccessful in getting them to reply - I will be patient. The seller has replied by saying that these boxes (those in question) are as supplied to him by his chemist for a long time. This does pose the question - how come he can do this? He also agrees that the boxes are not as advertised on Ebay. The whole matter smells somewhat to me. The boxes supplied by Boots on prescription when in the UK and all of the many purchases subsequently on Ebay have always been received in the standard packaging. This person cannot understand my concern and, I am sure, he does not see the misrepresentation I am on about. It is a pity more Lifescan users did not see my original post.
 
BaliRob - don't panic - I get these on the NHS and they have recently changed their packaging in a really strange way; looks like they've gone for generic/**** branding for some strange reason. You would have thought that in this brand obsessed world they wouldn't have left this re-brand to a partially sighted work experience person, but there you go.

The stickers on the tubs don't even fit properly.

The strips though are the same though.

Thankyou so much. I completely agree with you. The typography is what one would expect of an apprentice printer - and not 1/10th of the quality/layout of its predecessor. The thing is that I have just purchased some old boxes with strip expiry dates AFTER the new formatted boxes' expiry dates no there is no logic in the change. Thankyou again.
