Anyone else on this drug with metformin; according to https://bnf.nice.org.uk/interactions/linagliptin/

there is interactions with metformin. Increased risk of hypoglycemia. So why am I being told porkies?
If anyone else can shed light on this would be most grateful!

I'm trying to get on top of my diabetes but seems like it's working against me with meds.

Gliptin are used when your first phase insulin response is not enough for the carbs you eat.
Mainly because of insulin resistance or high circulating insulin levels that are of no use.
the additional insulin should lower the spike initially, which is better for you.
However, the meds can have side effects. Please discuss with your GP, as he has the significant knowledge of the reasons for prescribing the gliptin. And an alternative be found.
Gliptin alone, are designed not to cause hypos.

They also have the gliptin together with metformin in one tablet.
They wouldn't do that if it was counterproductive.
Metformin does not significantly lower blood glucose levels.
