Poor grammar, bullying and drunks.
I was put on Lipitor (Atorvastatin) by my GP (against my better judgement). I took it for seven days, on day five I experienced muscle pain and weakness so severe that I took the last tablet ever on day seven.

I made this decision based on my own personal circumstances, my familial risk, my health status at that time i.e. no personal experience of cardiac events and no known CVD and finally my own research.

You must decide for yourself based on your own research whether the benefit of a statin outweighs the risks of raised blood glucose levels. Good Luck.

I used to take statins (pravistatin) and my hba1c rose from 48 to 54. It wasn’t until I came off them because of other side effects that I realised that it was the statins increasing my BS.

You do not need to wait a week for your test results. You can ring the surgery tomorrow and ask the receptionist. While you are at it, you can ask for a print out of your test results. You are entitled to these. You can also ask if your surgery puts test results on line if you live in England. All surgeries were asked to do this before 2016. You have to register for this service, but once up and running you will be able to see all your historic results as well. You will also be able to see your cholesterol results, which will be useful if you want to come off Lipitor.. With all this information you can be in control of your own health and not at the mercy of your nurse.
