Hi,
I'm really struggling to lose weight , and I was wondering if liposuction might be a way to go. There are,of course, drawbacks for people that are not diabetic. I'm thinking whether there may be additional concerns being a diabetic and an oap to boot. I need to lose about 15 kilos
Cheers

Oh man, dont do it. Whats 15 kilos between friends? Surgery hurts.

My aunt had a gastric band fitted, as did one of the parents at school.
They look like different people now.
Sadly i can't be sure whether they are telling the truth or not if they're happy with it all though.

That's a bad idea. Liposuction is cosmetic surgery, and if you really need surgical intervention to lose weight then there are better options.

A for the risks, the NHS lists the following
Additional concerns for diabetics would be impaired healing if your control is bad.

Finally, I am assuming that you are trying to lose weight to get healthier, and unfortunately the subcutaneous fat you can target with liposuction is much less harmful than the bad visceral fat that you will not be able to target.
