Yes it would be a gastroenterolgist they are liver experts.My GP is referring me to a gastroenterologist (I think that is what he said) to look at my liver.
They say I have had raised liver enzymes for quite a while (never mentioned to me despite 6 monthly blood tests) and that it is likely fatty liver disease and there is a high risk I have scarring/fibrosis.
Just got dx of diabetes before xmas. 6 months ago HBA1c was 40 (but I was complaining of a lot of symptoms and now know they should have done a glucose tolerance test) HBA1c at dx 53/56

The advice given in the link posted is "lose weight" - I don't think anyone would disagree with this. (I suspect you mean ignore the advice on HOW to lose weight which was given on a different page by following a link.)But then ignore the diet advice...please...
