I'm sorry if this is the wrong place, but I couldn't identify the correct forum to post this.
I have been a type2 diabetic for the past 12 years. 3 years ago I was diagnosed with heart disease, I have angina, for which I've been given a nitromin spray, which I have used on occasion. 15 months ago I was diagnosed with localised T3b Prostate cancer, which has been treated with 37 sessions of radiotherapy. I've had 2 check ups so far, with the same result, so I have been lucky.
At present I'm recovering from my cancer treatment, although I still have hormone therapy injections every 3 months. I'm still concerned about my heart disease, and lately my GP referred me to the gym to attend a heart rehabilitation course, which is hard but necessary. My diabetes is still under good control, I saw my diabetic nurse last week. My HABc1 is at 51, which I'm told is rather good.
Are there any other members here who are contending with other long term illnesses? How are they coping with all the extra worry of bad health?
I suppose I'm not too bad, but I'm not fit. I cannot walk far at present. Plus since I took very ill with a bad virus 2 years ago - which inevitably showed up my cancer, I have been feeling dreadfully cold. Even this summer, in my home, I would wear 3 layers of clothing. If I went out, I would wear a fleece as a fourth layer.
This is my current status and it isn't funny.
Frank.
