Customer helplines that use recorded menus that promise to put me through to the right person but never do - and being ill. Oh, and did I mention customer helplines :)
Just been in my local chemists and picked up a leaflet on the counter offering free places at an afternoon diabetes event in London. The event is specifically about diabetic retinopathy and will include sessions hosted by:

  • Prof. Roy Taylor; Director of Newcastle Magnetic Resonance Centre, Newcastle University,
  • Prof. John Betteridge; Dean of Royal Society of Medicine
  • Dr. Sobha Sivaprasad; Head of Diabetic Eye Clinic, Kings College Hospital
  • Dr. Roxanne Crosby Nwaobi; Nurse with specialist interest in the eye, Kings College Hospital

The event will be held in London on Friday 21st March 2014 and will start at 12.30pm with Registration, tea & coffee and close at 5.25pm.

Anyone interested in attending especially anyone suffering from diabetic retinopathy or their carers should pick up a leaflet at their chemists or check out the Royal Society of Medicine's web site at http://www.rsm.ac.uk/public/events.php#medicine.

Thought this might be of use to some of you

Edited to include the event date!!
