LO warning

Can I ask libra users how often does the LO warning crop up , this morning out of the blue , nothing different to any other day I saw I was going low and Libre said I was 3.4 finger prick said 3.6 so quickly had some glucose and a piece of cake and then got the LO , I've been using the Libre now for ten months and I have never seen a reading below 2.9 ,i'me now slowly creeping up and Libre is showing 2.9 .
 
Couple of points that might help - Libre are behind your BG (for me its about 20 mins) so you've corrected your BG low and then the Libre curve has to catch up.

They are also not as accurate when below 4 (I find anything below 3.5 is usually not very accurate, just tells me its reading below 3.5 - nothing much else), and when high (above about 12 its guesswork as to what my levels actually are, but I know its 'high' which is usually good enough).


Lo signifies its reading below 2.0 - they're just not that accurate at low and high levels, but you get the idea where you are.
 
Yes it does give you a guide as to where you are I was just wondering if I was a bit of a freak going low enough to get the LO warning ,I think I probably. over corrected Libre is now showing 6.1 and rising , I didn't actually feel that low a bit more sweaty but nothing apart from that .
 
Not a freak - no :)

It happens from time to time, should be avoided if possible (but real life means it can happen regardless).

As long as it's a one-off and only happens every now and again - you're doing well, once in 10 months is excellent
 
This morning does seem really odd I went up to 6.1 after glucose and cake and now it's coming back down again , now showing 4.4 so just had another piece of cake and some more glucose , has a miracle happened and my pancreas sprung into life again :D .

It 'can' happen - but you'd have more chance clearing Todays Euro-millions jackpot :cool:

Potentially your basal is kicking you down (sometimes you get an odd day - if you get a pattern for a few days its worth investigating though) or if you've bolused it might be that still active.

There are lots of possibles as to why - any idea if anything is different today? (eating pattern, bad nights sleep, injecting/cannual in a new place etc)?
 
There is a difference , many weeks ago my Basel was 17 units in the morning but was getting more lows than I liked so cut it down to 15 and everything was fine , but recently started to get a few higher readings so I thought I would revert back to my 17 units which made no difference so went back to the 15 a couple of days ago which in theory should have put my bg up but seems to be having the opposite effect . I have actually noticed this before over the years were I give myself less insulin and my bg comes down as well , dosen't seem possible but that's how it has worked for me , anyway can't worry about it now I've got to spend them millions I just won on the lottery !:happy:
