I'm experiencing what looks like scleroderma which is a condition that affects the skin in the way that it makes it hard, rough textured, discoloured and makes it seem like it's dead. I haven't had a diagnosis of it yet, but it's mostly affected my extremities such as knee, toes and chest and up until recently i've started to get a feeling of numbness in my spine which has only happened once so far. Only reason I bothered to mention this is because it could be a nerve damage symptom or the condition I just mentioned.
It says it fades away gradually, but it's been present for many years now and i've also got a wart that was meant to disappear after using a treatment (some sort of quick freeze) the GP prescribed, but nothing seems to have done anything.
The most likely thing would be scleroderma, it has in a way formed a protective layer of skin which I cannot feel, so evidently nerves don't seem to reach to the surface. I once picked off a small part of the hardened skin and all that remained was I assume the muscle layer of the body, so the hardened skin would be the only layer of skin in that particular area.
