I was on the Animas IR1200 for 5 years and have been on the Accu Chek for 2.5 long miserable years.

Anyway.... on the Animas I had about 3 'gushers' and my sets never felt sore, I could bolus larger doses through it and the sets last 72hrs.

I use the same sets with the Accu Chek 'Inset IIs' and I am having lots of gushers, soreness and I can only get 48hrs out of a set at a push, sometimes just 36hrs.

I rotate my sites. I have no scarring, lumps etc... I often inject a bolus as too scared to pump it if over 3u!

I have NEVER cried over my diabetes but the frustrations I've had with his pump has had me crying and I hate that.

I don't use the remote meter with it, it's SO slow to connect, pauses on a blue screen, switches it'self off and makes me mad. Yes, I've had 2 replacements. Did the same so gave up. I therefore have to work out all the doses by myself.

I will go back to animas when i am due a new one, whenever that may be. I was given the accu chek even though was meant to go on animas again but the nurse messed up, she was off sick, never ordered pump, i went in to get it, no pump. went back, had accu chek.

I am tempted to give it back, go high on MDI as it never works out for me, plus huge needle phobia. :***:  and say, let me know when i can have an animas because it's making me hate the pump when before that I was so in love with it.

*sigh*

I just wonder, anyone else ever had issues like this?

on animas it delievers the bolus different to accu chek, could that cause it?

Have you lost weight since changing pump? Sounds more like an issue with the infusion sets? I have a medtronic pump but they have been really good if I've phoned with problems and have sent me samples of different sets to try, might be worth trying a different set before giving up on the pump x

Thanks for your reply. No, I'm exactly the same, give or take about 3lbs :D

I've tried the sets that came with the accu chek and 1 in 3 would kink. The main reason I use the Inset IIs as not one has kinked *touch wood* in the whole time I've used them.

I did use the tender links but I hated them. Took me a good 30 mins to summon the strength to insert it. wimp

I am seeing the DNS soon, maybe they can suggest something. It's just rubbish as it used to be so good if you know what I mean.
