Well i new it would come but its looking like megs honeymoon is coming to an end levels have been creeping up over the last 2 weeks. I dread to see what her HAB1c will be in may after her doing so well, The DSN is talking multi- dosing which will be a shift from our twice day routine and Meg not too pleased about this- understandably. she doesn't like change and I have to say neither do I.
In some respects we suppose we can move forward with things, still drawing up at the moment which after 6 months is becoming to be a pain surely they will let her have a pen or even better a pump soon- roll on the 15th of May when we can start our negotiations !

a little sad that it looks like her pancreas has completely stopped working I suppose half of me hoped a miracle would occur and it would kick start again.

It's a shame but it has to happen sadly, in hoping for me that the day is a long way off!

Definitely ask for a pen, it would potentially means she could start doing some of the injections with your supervision (I'm assuming she's not a toddler of course) as they're much simpler!

Multi injections IS a lot easier than you think. The freedom for meg to eat what she wants will be nice. If she's going to a birthday party and wants a piece of cake - no problem, just have an additional injection that day.

Talk it all through with the DSN, the changes can be really positive :)

Hi Jayne, we're on MDI using the pen. It's really not so bad. We use 4mm needles which are so fine, most times Ariyana doesn't feel it. Don't forget kids are growing, so a change could mean a growth spurt. Also you've just come back from holiday and they've only been back to school a week so levels/routines all recently changed. You'll adjust if you have to go onto MDI, just as you did with the mix...same principles different regime. Ahh, hope it goes well for Meg. Our first Hb1Ac wasn't too great - 8.5, so we've still a way to go, keep adjusting ratios. What meter do you use? I've just called accu check and they sent us the software which is useful to see patterns. x
