At the time I was alerted to having raised blood sugar levels, it was mid December and I was just about to board a plane for a holiday in the Canaries. It didn’t wreck my holiday but I avoided sugary foods (not carbs) for the entire holiday over Christmas and then for some considerable months after. That’s the background. The point worth noting is aswell as keeping my blood sugar levels down I also lost weight. Slowly. Just a few pounds each month. I found looking at the scales on a day to day footing pointless and confined the checks to a monthly basis at the doctors surgery.
