I've been trying to eat low-carb since 2016, but during the last few years, due to illness and increased stress, things slipped a bit, and heigh ho, roll on April 2025's HbA1c of 113 eeek.
I immediately cut out cola and sweet things apart from the occasional yogurt or ice cream, and tightened up meal content a lot. But couldn't avoid the once or twice a week crisp feast.
Just realised I haven't eaten crisps for over two weeks, and haven't even thought about eating any, despite a multipack being clearly visible from my bed. I've been struggling to finish meals too, so presumably eating a lot less overall.
This is despite currently only taking Metformin, latest HbA1c 61, and seeing FBGs of 10-12 most of the time. So I can't say I'm in remission by any standards. Really puzzled by this almost total loss of food noise despite still obviously being metabolically unwell. I don't think I'm eating low-enough carb for ketosis so what else could it be? I'd like this situation to carry on, so would like to know what's causing it!
