Loss of insulin?

Occasionally when I inject my insulin, a large blob of blood appears when I withdraw the needle. Will the insulin I have injected come back out in this slight loss of blood?

Hi. I'm not sure of the answer but having a large blob of blood might imply you are injecting too deep? What size needles do you use? I'm fairly thin and use 4mm needles and hardly ever see blood.

If the bleeding stops when you dab or apply a little pressure, you should be good! Agreed, what length needle are you using? I saw 3 people on a course today still using 8mm, I have 4mm, much less likely to clip capilliary vessels!

I get this as well depending on the injection site. I'm fairly athletic and don't have much to pinch. When I tried to put my levemir into my thigh I saw a big blob of clear liquid ooze out of my skin.

That one goes into my **** now, but I still get a drop of blood occaisionally, though it disappears under pressure. I'm not sure if down to the injection site or the steadiness of my hand?

Don't have so many problems with the novorapid into my stomach, but there's less contortion involved there.
