Im going on the OmniPod next week and my hospital isnt being clear or communicating anything with me so im so stressed and lost.

Can anyone talk me through how it went for you?

Ive been told to pick up 200units for the pump but thats it, it feels like so little? Is that normal?
I dont know anything. next appointment, next prescription. Nothing.

Hi DapherCake

I am an Omnipod5 user. I can understand that you will be feeling stressed and lost, especially as you have not had much information.

The insulin you have been asked to collect will be in 10ml vials. The vials contains 100 units per ml. What happened for me was that this was added to my repeat prescription. Take this along to your fist session.

A regular order of pods will have been setup with Insulet. They will arrive every 3 months. For me the supplies arrive automatically.

What happened for me is that I received my first box of pods and my PDM ( personal diabetes manager)
at the initial session. If you are going on closed loop you will also need whatever sensor you are going to be using. I use Libre2+ sensors.

There will be a representative from Omnipod at the session who will deliver a PowerPoint presentation.
When I first started on a pump follow-up was at one week and then one month. Telephone support was available in between times.

Hopes this helps a bit. If you have any questions please let me know
