I wrote recently about beating the evil weed, which subsequently sent my B'S fromantic 6- 7 up to 11- 13. I have been vigilant on food front whilst I wait, and hope this will level out sometime. But since just before Christmas my energy levels have dropped - today I am exhausted after shower. I am seeing dbn soon to review how to tackle raised levels. Just wondering if anyone has similar experience or sound advice please?

Forgot to say I'm on SR 1000 mg a day wanted to come off as they really mess with my stomach - dbn suggested upping dose or changing to another med but not too convinced on that score. Wanted to go diet only!

Hi. I've ended up on insulin for the same reason. Mind you my diet now is kinder to my bgs.
What does your diet look like?
What's your impression of a diabetic food shop?
I wish I'd had guidance on this forum when I was at your stage.
You've come to the right place! :)

Diet only
Are you getting enough fat in your diet .. if you are cutting out the carbs to be a diet only T2 then you need to be sure you are getting enough protein and fats to keep your energy levels up. What is your carb intake at the moment ? I found over christmas I increased my carbs from 20g a day to around 60g a day and did feel as weak as a kitten .. now I aim back on track and feel fine :)
edit to add .. what are you blood sugar readings when you got out of the shower ... If I start to feel like I have run out of enegery I always take a bs reading just to see whats happening .. so far for me its always shown my sugars are in the normal range

My diet is moderately good, but working improving further! My idea of a diabetic shop is quite bleak - no sugar, low carbs, small amount of fruit with restrictions on sweeter types such as my favourite - bananas☺

Thanks advice Enclave - Saw DBN today. We talked about changing meds, and even 5 and 2 diet. Seriously considering really coming down hard on this disease as it seems alternative is higher bsl long term and I really don't want that!

I started s thread in low carb called shopping list. I hope it helps.
I set it up for me as I was useless at what I should be buying. I was stuck in a rut of high carbs. :-(
