I have been low-carbing (not drastically - about 75g per day) for two weeks now and just today I realized the increase in energy I've had in the past week. For a long time, it was a struggle to get through the day. Simple tasks like laundry, going up and down the stairs many times per day, walking to town/shopping, etc. would really wear me out. Just thinking about exercise was exhausting. I work from home, and I often fell asleep after lunch. I'd say my energy has already increased by about 50%! I am doing all my chores with ease. I walked about 5 miles a day in Scarborough last week for 3 days in a row, and today I shoveled piles of rock for about 30 minutes (really heavy) with no problem. Also, I am sleeping so, so, SO much better. I would often lie in bed for hours, or toss and turn, or wake up after an hour or two, and not be able to get back to sleep. I'm sure I'll start losing a good amount of weight soon (I've already lost 5lbs.), so that can only help my energy levels.
Can one be in a "carb coma"? Because that is how I felt before! I'm so excited, thinking of all the things/projects I can tackle this Spring/Summer with my newfound energy! Has anyone else noticed a big spurt of energy, or better sleep, once they started low-carbing?
