Hi
Thought I had already posted this earlier today, but can't find it on forum. I just wanted some advise as to how many grams are classed as a 'low carb' meal or a days worth of carb's. I eat quite alot of bread as I find this leaves me more forefilled than other carbs' although I have changed to wholegrain or seeded type.

A good place to start for guidance on WHAT to eat for low carb is the GI tables. they will show you that bread is not very different from pure glucose in the speed it produces BG. Disappointingly Wholemeal and seeded breads are not much better than white. The only kinds of bread which it's safe to eat, whilst low carb arespecialist low carb bread, So called low cal breads, eg. Nimble or German black bread.( pumpernickel)
Somewhere on this forum there are the numbers for what constitutes low carb. posted by Katharine , i think.
But you can't low carb and eat lots of bread.

Hello Teresa,

Here are the figures hanadr mentioned, originally posted by Katharine.

low carb (ketogenic) 0-50g
Typical low carb 50-90g
Liberal low carb 90-130g
Moderate carbs 130-170g
High carb 170g plus a day

Regards,
timo.

must admit timo i dont agree with that - as it does not take into account the actual person and whether male or female .
