Hi redbus

i notice you are on galipizide which is an insulin stimulating type medication. from my understanding (limited as I'm oral only T2) if you are trying low carb you will need to look at your medication as some of your reads are low.

From your days food it's more carbs than I would have but I choose to have very few and don't have the medication issue to contend with

I have

Breakfast - 2 egg omlette, mushrooms
Lunch - chicken salad with coleslaw
Dinner - eg salmon fillet and veg

There are many people on here who are on insulin inducing meds or insulin itself and choose to low carb which helps them to reduce their meds, sure they will be along soon to help

That is a very low food diet, redbus. We would all be hungry on that diet, & as Mary points out, your medication will cause your low BGs if you are not eating the carbs they are intended to control. You still need to eat, & increase low carb foods to compensate. And not worry about increased fats.

I find a very sustaining b'fast is a nut porridge - providing protein & fats, but little carb. compared with cereal. I'll add a link to an experiment I did.

Hi, I am type 2 but on diet only, no medication. I see that you have an apple every day and bran flakes for breakfast. Ceraels are not good as they contain alot of sugar (look at the label). I personally cannot eat fruit as B/G rises, except Farmfoods rhubarb (very low carbs) and occasional berries. I also cannot eat any kind of comercial bread because it makes my B/G rise. Please go the Low Carb Section and take a look at VIV'S MODIFIED DIET. You can fill up on meat and fish, get vitamins and minerals from salads and non starcy veg, cheese and diary. I good protein start to the day would be eggs ( I usually have an omelette). I make a fair sized salad to eat throught the day for tea and supper with meat, chicken, fish, seafood, etc.

Redbus, with the medication you're on, you need to talk to your doctor before low-carbing (although your diet isn't actually extremely low carb) I suggest you tell the doc about your diet, and your low BGs, and seek advice on adjusting meds or upping carbs.
