I think my body has made the decision for me whether to cut carbs or not. I had chips (cooked in an airfryer so basically potatoes) and my stomach is not happy. It is bloated and I feel yuk. I had 2 slices of burgen bread for lunch and was OK with that. after both meals my bs was between 5 and 6, I still haven't decided what level of carbs I am aiming for but know they are definitely reduced.

one other thing I need to consider is my weight loss. I have about a stone to lose and whilst it is going down it is very slow. I need t decide if I want to continue at this speed or increase the loss by reducing carbs even more

You might find you can tolerate chips (assuming you really want the chips) better if they are actually deep fried, it is said by some that the fat slows down the absorption rate, not certain myself, but if deep fried make sure its in a fat that does not break down at high temps, my local chippie uses beef fat and although I have chips very infrequently when I do it does not affect me too much, unlike boiled or mashed potatoes. I usually low carb though.

Low carb or otherwise, the best way to oose weight is still to reduce calorie intake so you have around a 500cal daily defecit, couple that with exercise and you should lose the weight you want. I managed to shed 30lb in 8months so worked for me.
