At the recent APPG meeting in the House of Commons one of the key speakers, Dr Aseem Malhotra, mentioned an up- and-coming teaching module aimed at GPs. The panel felt that a low carbohydrate eating plan should be one of the options available to people with Type 2 diabetes and one of the first lines of treatment. Unfortunately, completion of this module is voluntary. I shall certainly be pushing this with my surgery and I hope it is available soon.
Dr Malhotra also stated that in a recent survey of 2000 people with Type 2 diabetes only 15% wanted to continue with medication.

I'm pretty sure its available already on the RCGP website
But as a non HCP we aren't allowed to look

Thanks, I will be able to point medics in this direction!
All they need is their NHS email address, if I recall. Similarly other HCPs can also access it.

The DCUK Low Carb Programm also has specific HCP support areas
