Is it advisable to stop medication and rely solely on diet for a few days in order to determine whether or not T2 is in remission? On the other hand how do I go about it? Fbg today 4.6 & 5.9 postprandial.

There are no firm parameters as to 'remission'.

Edited to add.
Coming off meds just for a few days may not be long enough to tell. People usually judge by their meter readings and their HbA1c results.

It would help if you told us what medication you are on, and how much!

It would also help if you told us a bit about your eating regime.

It would also help if we knew what your last HbA1c was, and how long ago.

Given that I don't know the above information I would expect it to take more than a few days holiday from medication to be needed to remove any lingering effects.
Metformin, for example, is cumulative.

To establish if you have good control drug free I would expect you to go drug free for at least three months and then have an HbA1c to confirm your long term control over the whole day. This gives time for any effects from the drugs to clear from your HbA1c reading.

Congratulations on your FBG, by the way. However I would expect a history of good readings over several weeks before thinking this was a long term trend. :-)

Metformin 500mg twice daily. Went through lchf 10 week program and tried as much as possible to follow the guideline on diet. Hb1Ac Jan 4, 2018 was 43 just like the previous one six months earlier. I must thank the two contributors to this trend. Now better informed.
