On some days I have an egg white omelette with mushrooms, tomatoes and red onion (oh ok and a bit of grated cheese
)
on rushed days I have my fruit yoghurt, made thusly:
mix half a pot of full fat greek style yoghurt with a full scoop of soy protein isolate powder, ass a few granules of sweetener and about a fluid ounce of cream (jersey cream tastes richer for fewer calories and less exorbitant fat) - this mix will store in the fridge for a few days (making it ideal for days I am in a rush - read: days my son doesn't want to make life easy and we're late for school haha) and to that I add some fresh strawberries about 6 ounces
yum ... occasionally I have a small (kid size) banana and this keeps me going for ages - and feeling all virtuous - and it tastes great
- luckily for me, bananas are something that don't negatively affect my bgs, but that's not the same for everyone I guess. I eat them as green as possible so that might be why!
the soy protein isolate seems expensive when you buy a tub for a tenner, but the amount you use is actually a small proportion of the tub and it really helps your protein for the day
