Low immune system

Hi all, looking for advice/opinions really, recently been quite unwell with the horrible viral bug that seems to have floored everyone over Christmas. Had to go docs today and get antibiotics as it’s gone on my chest again sadly.
Anyways long story short and recent illness aside my immune system is terrible always run down and poorly and catch everything! Being hospitalised in the past due to infections etc Is there anything that anyone can suggest for improving immune system? I also have under active thyroid so I think this would also have an effect.

Thanks

I used to get endless colds in the winter particularly. I was told by someone, can’t remember who, it was so long ago, to take vitamin C and zinc. I have taken Tesco own brand orange dissolvable vitamin C and zinc ever since. I now rarely get colds (touch wood) and if I do it’s really mild.

I take high dose vitamin c. Started in covid and just carried on. Have no proof it works. I get the odd cold but nothing serious, fingers crossed!

Thanks for the response guys, I just wasn’t sure if there was anything I should avoid taking etc with being type 2 - will looking the vitamin C and zinc
