This morning i got up tired and my mood was really low i had been asleep for 12 hours is this normal for people with type two diabetes :?:

The answer Steve is that we all sleep for differing times, depending on what we need.
Sleeping a very long time is a classic depression coping strategy especially if you are sleeping into a lot of the day.

Try not to worry too much, its not a symptom of anything severe but if you are concerned, perhaps when you next see your Dr you could bring the point up

I don't know if you are low carbing or not but for me after about a month of getting serious about carb limiting - I found that I was full of energy and because my bg was fairly stable, so was my mood (at least all my family thinks so  )

Since i have found out i diabetes all i have been told is to cut out easy sugars put on Metformin and basically that's it

Its all early days for you, you've only been diagnosed a month. I know its the pits, nobody wants to hear they have diabetes - but its not the end of the world either ..
take some time to look around the forum, see the success stories and find out how others are managing their blood sugars - I think its pretty much agreed on that once you get control of them you will start to feel better if for no other reason than you have taken control of diabetes rather than it controlling you.

I'm sure you will find there are a lot of beneficial (to your bg control) routes you can take that will eventually let you see a way forward and an easing of your mood and tiredness

Hi Steve
You probably in a bit of shock after being told you have diabetes. You need to give yourself time to adjust
and your body to sort itself out.
Look a round the forum, but if you look up anna29 she will have some good advice.
Talk to your family and friends regarding how you are feeling so that they are a ware.
Ask us all as many questions you think you need answering whether thay ar big or small.
Take care
Tracey

Thank you for the advice Tracey i will do that then it might help my wife know what i happening

Please get your Vitamin D and B12 levels tested. A deficiency of either vitamin can mimic chronic fatigue. Vitamin D deficiency is incredibly common these days, especially in northerly latitudes.

I was diagnosed with a deficiency around the same time I was diagnosed with Type 2. Within 2 weeks of going on Vitamin D supplementation - and well before getting my blood glucose down - I felt like a completely different person. It felt like an absolutely miracle to me
